Headed out the Port yesterday in search of Tarpon and perhaps a Triple tail. Seas were a littler messier than expected as we were in my buddies 18′ redfisher. Stopped at the buoys in search of a Triple tail. I was throwing a 1/4 DOA jig head with a frozen shrimp 2nd or 3rd cast it gets nailed and I’m think big trip!. The first time I get it up my buddy oh shark he yells Cobia! Straight to the bottom it went. With 30 lb leader and the light hook i had to baby it for about 20 minutes b4 I got it boatside and Kieth puts tha gaff in it. As soon as it hit the deck the hook broke in half. That was it for the day. Lots of cudas and no trips at the buoys. Had to run south a ways to find bait but never found any Tarpon. Made it in just b4 the storms rolled through. 29 lbs.
