Fort Pierce area Fishing Spots Reports
Stuart Fishing is excellent, but like any where you go fishing, the bite can be really good, and sometimes really bad. Spring, Summer and Winter offer fishermen a variety of fishing spots from Florida Fishing Spots to have your best chance at landing a few nice fish in the Stuart and Fort Pierce Fishing area. Here’s a few random fishing reports from various times of the year around Stuart Florida from White’s Fishing Tackle and other snippets.
Slow bite yesterday off of Ft. Pierce inlet. Scattered sailfish and Mahi from 110′-200′ trolling small ballyhoo. The best of the bite being early morning or late afternoon. A few small schools of bait being marked while fishing in that same depth range. Farther to the south the Spanish mackerel and jacks are thick in the St Lucie inlet and to the south off pecks lake. Keep an eye out for the boats about 1/4 mile off the beach plenty of fish to be caught.
As for inshore, there has been a few pompano on the flats around Stuart. Another front coming in the weekend should get them fired up a little more. Only 11 days till snook season reopens, its a great time to take advantage of the catch/release before the crowd of anglers come in to fish for diner. The bite has been great in the north fork river and the Rio area across from downtown Stuart. Don’t be surprised if you see a few Spanish that far up river as we have had a really good tide flow the last few weeks. Great clarity all the way up river to Ten Cent bridge.Tight lines and good luck this weekend. -Cullen
Offshore over the weekend there where a few reports of some scattered dolphin with some sails around to the north of Ft Pierce in 150 to 200ft with some blackfin mixed in to. The kingfish bite has been steady with a few big fish mixed in with the 10 to 15lb fish 60 to 80ft of water on the reef. There where a few reports of a few cobia around hopefully we will have a great year for cobia. Inshore the trout bite has been ok in 3 to 5ft of water with live shrimp and soft baits with as many jacks and lady fish you can catch around. The snook bite has been ok at night at the jetty and on the cat walk the incoming tide has produced the best jigs and live bait are the bait of choice. There has been a few reports of some flounder around the inlet on the incoming tide.
